The 6,200 sq.ft, eighth floor unit of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry’s ‘Opus’ is reported to have sold for a record price (for a single-floor apartment in HK) of HKD470M (HKD75,806 /sq.ft). Located along Stubbs Road, this newly completed development offers large luxury condos in the prestigious lower Peak area. The developer, Swire Properties, declined to comment on the deal, but should it proceed as indicated, it would be the priciest apartment in Hong Kong, second globally to London’s ‘One Hyde Park’.
Industry experts have stated that this is an ‘isolated case’ and no immediate conclusions should be drawn from this regarding the effect it will have on other properties in the market.
Another unit in the complex was recently leased out at HKD850,000 /month.
